FDA approves Lilly’s Forteo for patients taking glucocorticoids for inflammatory conditions.

The AP (7/24) reports, “Drugmaker Eli Lilly and Co. said Thursday regulators have approved a new use for its osteoporosis treatment Forteo [teriparatide].” The drug was approved “as treatment for patients taking” glucocorticoid “medications for inflammatory conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and obstructive pulmonary disease.” Forteo is “already…approved to treat osteoporosis in men and women.”
